They Are Us – Fundraising Pin

16.00

All profits go to the Christchurch Shooting Victims' Fund.

This isn’t just a pin, it’s a pledge. A promise to:

  • Call out hate speech where we see it

  • Listen to the voices of marginalised people

  • Amplify those voices without speaking over them.

‘They are us’ was a phrase spoken by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern shortly after the terrorist attack in Christchurch, referring to those affected by the event. They are words that have been repeated and amplified by Muslim, Māori and Pakeha alike.

But isn’t just a catchphrase or a slogan, and it shouldn’t be about making white people feel better about themselves. ‘They are us’ means standing up against hatred, bigotry and racism and recognising the privileges that some of us have. We can’t afford to fall into complacency or let hatred win. Let this pin be a reminder of that.

Currency is in US dollars. Sorry if this is confusing. I couldn’t change the currency just for this item. The postage is included though.
